Your calculations stay with you

Calculators run in your browser. Inputs are not sent to us when you calculate. When you copy a share link, the inputs are encoded in the link itself, so whoever you send it to sees the same result; we don’t store them.

Stored on your device

We keep a few preferences in your browser’s local storage: your theme, your preferred code edition and, if you install the site for offline use, cached copies of pages. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Usage counts

To learn which tools are used, we count anonymous events such as “a voltage drop calculation was run” or “a page was printed”, totalled per day. These counts contain no cookies, no IP addresses and no identifiers. When the search box can’t answer a query, we may record the query text (shortened and without anything that identifies you) so we can add what people are looking for.

Reports and messages

If you report a problem or contact us, we store your message, the page, the calculator inputs you chose to include, and your email address if you gave one, so we can fix the issue and reply. We delete reports after they are resolved and no longer needed, and never use them for marketing.

Infrastructure

The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages securely and stop abuse, under its own privacy policy. We use Cloudflare’s approximate country and region of each request only to suggest the code edition used where you are; it is not stored.
